Pencil Portraits are created with a combination of graphite, charcoal and occasional white pastel or acrylic paint, they are sprayed with sealant and completed with a simple white mat and backing.

These pieces are meant to capture the character of the subject while looking realistic but are not meant as a perfect rendering; they are intended to still feel like a piece of artwork. Let us know anything about how you feel or what stands out most about the subject or scene (cozy, happy, stubborn, expressive eyes etc).
Please note the 5x7 size can accommodate up to 2 subjects but more than that should be on a bigger paper to maintain the quality of detail.
Timing is dependent on the size, how many subjects included and if there are other orders in process. We will confirm timing with you when you place your order but it's a good rule to plan on about 4 weeks to complete from deposit to ready for shipping.
PEOPLE- Pencil Realistic
Subjects should be in good lighting, well focused, detailed and digitally sent. Multiple photos of the subject work best and any input you have is helpful. Your general feel of the area or subject, what your favorite part is, what stands out, what makes them special as well as what you prefer to see less of are all things that can help direct us to capture the character of the piece. It's the little details and feelings of the moment or subject that make it personal. We can also combine images and change the background or scenery as needed.
We like to have your input to make sure it is going in the direction you want however it is hard to see what it will look like when it’s halfway done as the middle process can look a bit like a blob. For this reason we tend not to share progress work until it is nearly finished, unless requested.
Once the composition is agreed on, 2 small changes are included in the pricing before it is officially finished. (eye color, background details, small shape changes etc). Larger changes (position change, adding or removing subjects, major color changes, etc) will require additional charges but our goal is always to give you something that you love.
